Frequently Asked Questions
How far do you travel?
Meraki Artis is based in Wellington, Ohio. Travel radius is typically Lorain County, West Cuyahoga County, Medina County, Ashland County, Huron County, and Erie County. However, if you live outside these areas, we can still come to you. Please email us to accommodate a longer travel time scheduling. Out-of-state brides are also welcome.
How far in advance can I book?
You’re welcome to book as early as you’d like. Our turnaround time is 12 weeks, so your first appointment should be scheduled no later than three months before your wedding. Your final fitting will typically take place about two weeks before your date. Booking in advance is always encouraged to ensure availability, especially during the busy spring and fall wedding seasons.
How much are alterations?
The average bridal alterations cost is around $600. Depending on scope of services and how much detail is involved, your price may be lower or higher. You may send us a photo of your dress for a price quote. We accept Debit/Credit, Cash, Check, Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, and Cash App for convenience.
What are the services you provide?

Please note: We will make recommendations, but you do not have to agree to all alterations. We also reserve the right to refuse alterations when dress integrity is at risk.
What is the booking fee?
The booking fee is a non-refundable $50 fee used to secure your appointment. It is a one-time fee and does not need to be paid for any additional fittings.
What all do I need?
You will need:
•Shoes or shoes of similar height if wearing heels. Please note that if you change the height of the shoes after your first appointment, the hem may not be able to be adjusted to the new length.
•Form of Payment
•Any specific undergarments for the dress such as corsetry, hoop skirts, petti skirts, and long line bras. Avoid wearing sports bras during the fitting.
•If overskirts, sleeves, straps, or any other detachable elements need to be altered, please make sure to have those at the appointment.
Does the appointment need to be at my house?
No. It can be anywhere you are comfortable having it.
When is the final fitting?
Most alterations take two appointments, however in some cases you may need more. You will want to schedule your last appointment about 2 weeks before your wedding. You may book that in advance here.
What if I have pets?
We are pet-friendly and love meeting people's pets. That being said, it may be a good idea to put them away for their safety (if possible) because pins are involved in fittings. This will also avoid the risk of pets damaging the dress. If your animals are dangerous or a bite-risk, you must put them away during the appointment.
Safety Tips
You'll want to avoid locking your knees during the appointment as this can cause fainting. If you need water or need a break, please let us know. Please make sure to eat and have plenty of water before your appointment.
Please ensure all walkways are clear within reason. Ice, large items, and blocked pathways due to animals and vegetation may pose a safety risk.
Cancellations
Cancellations on our end. To ensure staff safety and the safety of your dress, we may need to reschedule due to hazardous weather. Ice storms, heavy snow, squalls, severe thunderstorms, tornadic weather, and heavy downpours where visibility is low may cause cancellations or delays. If the appointment needs to be canceled, we will get you back in at the earliest availability.
Please go ahead and reschedule if you are contagious.
We have the right to refuse to accommodate habitual reschedules and/or cancellations.
